My Writing Hero

I didn’t start out writing about groupies and rock stars. My first love is actually literary fiction. While my contemporaries were reading Stephen King or Nora Roberts, I had my nose in a Joyce Carol Oates book. She is my absolute favorite writer:

As an English major at the University of Massachusetts I also read a lot of Faulkner, Toni Morrison, Charles Dickens, and other classic writers. Now I split my time between those same writers, and biographies of my rock heroes. Someday I’ll publish literary fiction under a second name.  Right now, I’m just having fun with my groupie girls and their rock star loves!
