Goin’ Hikin’

Carlsbad

It’s been a heck of a long winter here in New England, but I’m heading out of town in a couple of days. Time to start knocking more of those National Parks off the “hiked” list! This time around I’ll visit Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountains, in New Mexico and Texas, respectively. Hoping to bag Guadalupe Peak, the highest point in Texas, while there.

Guadalupe Peak

I’ve visited both parks in the past, but it’s been quite a long time, and the first time I was there I wasn’t hiking yet. So, poor me has to go back! (Seriously, it’s my pleasure.) Fingers crossed for good weather. Looking like it will be in the 50s and 60s, which sounds positively BALMY to me from where I’m sitting! These two parks will be numbers 26 and 27 for me on (or off!) the “have hiked” list, though the “have visited” list is 40-plus.

Pictures soon!
